Wordpress vs Squarespace: What's the Difference?

If you're going to build a new website then you need to consider which platform to use. So what's the difference between Wordpress and Squarespace? Simply put, Wordpress offers an "open ecosystem" while Squarespace is a "closed ecosystem".

This means that Wordpress offers templates, plugins, and functionality provided by third party software publishers while Squarespace is the sole developer of everything they offer their platform users.

This is a big reason why Wordpress is so dominant. How dominant is it? WordPress runs about 4.5% of the entire internet.

Perfect Grammer and Spelling with Grammarly

Grammarly is a free software plugin for the Chrome browser that proofreads your writing while checking for over 250 grammar rules. I use Grammarly in my browser and highly recommend it.

There is also a paid "premium" version of Grammarly but the free offering is fantastic on its own.

       Avada: A Premium Wordpress Theme

If you're getting started building a new Wordpress website you'll need to consider which theme to use. This is challenging because there are approximately 10,000 Wordpress themes to choose from. Also, you need to consider if you want to use a free theme or a paid theme and either a parent or child theme.

Mike Grossman Consulting regularly tests out new themes and we try to cull out the best themes from this crowded market.

Recently we discovered the Avada theme and we think it is worth sharing. Avada costs $60 and offers a lot of flexibility and customization options. Also, it's responsive so your website will also look good on phones and tablets.
